Although it was in-between storms the Deal half marathon provided challenging conditions for Cris Francis and Alison Waters. A hilly course and gale force winds did not hold them back with Cris posting a 1:29:53 and Alison 2nd lady and 1st in her age group with 1:37:56.
Trevor Sparks, showing the benefit from recent competitions ran the Tunbridge Wells half in a personal best time of 2:04:45.
A good club turn out at the Ashford park run saw Dan Green returning back to form with a time of 19:46. He must have been chasing down the Hodge twins with Jack running a 18:49 and Kieren a very tasty 19:29. No better way to finish off a 14 mile ‘Warren’ marathon training run than getting a personal best of 21:24, there is no stopping Alison Waters at the moment. Rachel Jenkins ran a 32:19 and Emma Jenkins 37:27.
Mr Awesome, Rik Holden pumped out the 50km, SVN marathon day ultra in a time of 4:26:08. Linda-Jean Delport also competing at the Samphire Hoe based event clocked her 20th marathon in.

Jill Crofton-Martin ran the Trosley Park Challenge 10k in 54:32 finishing 2nd lady and 1st vet 40.
At the Brighton half marathon Nick Collins had a good test of his marathon training with an impressive 1:15:19 earning 33rd place and 5th vet 40. Gill O’Connor had an amazing race and finished in 1:44:16 winning the F60 age category. She worked hard to secure the top spot in a field of 81 competitors of the same bracket . At the same event Rachel Jenkins put in an impressive time of 2:24:35.
Chris Costiff took part in the Wokingham half marathon finishing in a time of 1:36:36, with a truly staggering age grading of over 90%.
The conclusion to a very successful cross country season for A&D was the Saucony National XC Championships held at the iconic Parliament Hill Fields in London. The conditions were as to be expected with the course nicely churned up into a mud-bath for the senior’s races.
The ladies team were led home by club captain Ailis Goddard followed by Lesley Taylor, Massah Cooper and Lucy Johnstone. This gave the ladies 98th place in the team competition.
A strong turnout for the mens team saw Paul Crisp first home, in his first season for the club a truly impressive run, and improving with every race. James Booth was close behind with both A&D runners finishing just outside of the top 1000.
Adrian Moody provided a master class in XC running leaving his best race of the season to the national championships finishing 3rd for the club. Alex Francis was pushed on by Scot Lynch to give a strong finish with Alex also showing great improvements through the season.
Mens captain Adrian Beresford completed the scoring giving the team 109th place. Mark Harrison, Daniel Head, Andrew Noble and Paul Moses all ensured there was strength in depth to ensure a team placing.
This represented the first time in many years that A&D had achieved team placing in the National Championships and testament to the dedication and efforts of all who have competed through what has been a long season.
