Ashford AC Givaudan 10K – Sunday 7th October 2018:

Sunday saw 53 club members turn out for the 32nd Givaudan 10K on home turf, with 18 finishing in personal best times. The undulating course covered the town centre and made for an enjoyable race.

Trevor Kay was first man home for the club, finishing 8th overall with a PB of 0:35:29. Daniel Green was 19th overall in 0:36:35, followed by Ryan Edwards (36th overall) with a PB time of 0:38:50. Scotty Lynch was next in for the club and 43rd overall with a time of 0:39:27, making him 4th in the V50 category. Paul Ridley achieved a PB of 0:39:31, followed by Paul Moses (0:39:43), Julius Samson (0:39:57), Rob Barton (0:40:28), Keith Haynes (0:40:45), Mark Attenborough (0:42:15) and Carl Ireland with a PB time of 0:43:36. Mark Carlton was next over the line in 0:45:21, followed by Jon Pearce (0:45:30), Ricky Hickman with a PB of 0:45:34, Neil Woodham (0:46:28) and Don Dewar (0:46:33). David Chappell achieved a PB of 0:47:18, with Terry Sellen (0:48:31) and Aaron Homewood (0:48:34) close behind. Mark Cleworth then crossed the line with a PB of 0:52:24, followed by Shaun Snowwolf-Harris in another PB of 0:52:43, Steve Hickman (0:52:52), Keith Lynn with a PB of 0:53:21, John Fidge (0:54:02), Mark Boorer (0:57:38) and Trevor Sparkes (1:04:03).

Becky Macey was the first lady home for the club and 6th lady overall, with a devilish PB time of 0:42:35 in bib no. 666! Elodie Paviot was next with a PB of 0:44:38, followed by Christine Costiff in 0:46:44. Filiz Salih finished the course in another PB time (0:48:34), followed by Aurelie Morris (0:49:08), Tracey Calnan (0:49:20) and Hazel Turner (0:49:22). The club’s ladies continued on strong form as Sandi Mortimer (0:49:39), Sophie Edmonds (0:49:44), Jaclyn Kay (0:52:04), Heather Johnston (0:52:52) and Sarah Homewood (0:56:20) then all crossed the line in PB times. Lucy Johnstone finished in 0:57:27, followed by Ann Fidge (1:00:25), Sarah Taylor (1:03:33), Lesley Moody (1:04:27), Emma Jenkins with a PB of 1:12:11 and Debbie Payne (1:12:52).

Tonbridge Half Marathon and Cardiff Half Marathon- Sunday 7th October 2018

James Phillips achieved a PB time in the 8th Tonbridge Half Marathon on Sunday, crossing the finish line in 1:46:08 and shaving almost 10 minutes off his previous record. Further west, Rachel Jenkins completed the Cardiff Half Marathon in PB time of 2:20:55.

Sittingbourne 10 Mile Road Race- Sunday 7th October 2018

Anthony Brown completed the course in 1:16:56, whilst Rhian Shrimplin achieved a PB time of 1:17:21. The pair finished in 36th and 37th place respectively.

Titsey Trail 10K- Sunday 7th October 2018

Gill O’Connor came 2nd in her age category in the undulating, off-road race in Surrey, with a time of 0:50:40.

Saturday 6th October 2018: Ashford Parkrun

Shaun Snowwolf-Harris completed Saturday’s Parkrun in 0:27:29.

Wednesday 3rd October 2018: SVN Tolkien Challenge

Two club runners covered marathon distance in the SVN Tolkien Run, by the White Cliffs of Dover. Hazel Turner completed the 26.2 miles in 4:09:30, going on to finish during her 7th lap at 4:12:29. Becky Hodgson completed 26.2 miles in 6:24:28.
