Ashford Summer Series 5k Friday –  18th August 2017

At the last race in the Ashford Summer Series 5k, Ashford & District runners dominated the event taking 5 of the top 6 places. Dan Green followed up his 1st place finish in last month’s race with another victory completing 5k in 18m:24s closely followed by Robert Barton in a time of 18m:46s. Paul Moses finished 3rd in 19m:01s, just edging out Julius Samson by the tightest of margins in 19m:02s. Mark Attenborough clocked a time of 19m:45s in 6th. Connor Samson crossed the line impressively in 12th place with a time of 20m:29s with Richard Baker in 15th in 20m:36s. Danyel Carter continued her great form this year with a new PB at this distance of 21m:01s in 17th and 2nd Female finisher. Stuart Nunn 20th in 21m:38s and Becky Hodgson 39th in 30m:42s completed a successful night for the club.

Ashford Summer Series 10k Friday –  18th August 2017

In the final Ashford Summer Series 10k on Friday evening, Carl Jones finished 3rd in 39m:17s. Christine Costiff ran an excellent race, finishing as 1st lady and 12th overall in 46m:38s. Ricky Hickman followed in 13th with a time of 47m:25s, Rod Kessack 16th in 49m:26s, Edward Rodger 18th in 50m:32s and Will Whittington 21st in 52m:59. Lucy Johnstone, completing her 1st race for the club finished in 32nd in 58m:52s.

Ashford Parkrun –  Saturday 19th August 2017

Ashford & District runners again featured heavily in the top 10 at Parkrun Ashford. Robert Latala powered home to win emphatically in 16m:35s. Dan Green, fresh from his victory the previous night recovered well and finished 3rd in 18m:49s. Trevor Kay and Robert Barton were not far behind in 5th & 6th, 19m:01s and 19m:05s respectively. Paul Moses finished in 9th in 19m:28s and Scott Lynch completed the top 10 in 19m:30s. Mark Attenborough ran 20m:58s, Mark Carlton with a time of 23m:14s was closely followed by Rod Kessack and Edward Rodger in 23m:22s and 23m:37s. Jaclyn Kay was the 1st lady home for the club in 25m:31s whilst Claire and Chloe Green crossed the line together in 27m:59s. Will Whittington finished in 28m:09s, Lucy Johnstone in 32m:35s, Julie Foster in 36m:00 and Becky Hodgson in 36m:08s

Twilight Chase, Winchelsea and Rye Nature Reserve –  Saturday 19th August 2017

Hazel Turner completed her 1st marathon distance in an impressive time of 4hr:20m at the Twilight Chase in East Sussex. A small field, limited to 80 runners set out to complete as many 4.4 mile laps of the coastal course as they wish in 6 hours. Running late into the evening Hazel finished in 16th place overall
