The club had a large turnout for the popular 666 trail run on Sunday. Run on a very tough and muddy off road course of 6.66 miles around Kings Wood in Challock, CJ Lattimer was the first club runner home as he finished an excellent 2nd place in a time of 49:00. Jon Wells was next in for the club in a 4th place finish in 52:33, and close behind was Paul Moses in 5th place in 52:40. Dean Bracken came home in 9th place in 53:55, Chris Boyce 14th in 55:35, Robin Butler 16th in 55:57 and Anthony Brown was 20th in 57:14. Glenn Holliday finished in 33rd place in 60:33, Paul Brasington 35th in 60:46, Jo Faux was the first lady in her age category as she finished in 63:41, Stu Nunn came home in 72:52, Nigel Costiff was 5th in his age category in a time of 80:52 and Steve Wellsted finished in 82:40.
In very windy conditions on Sunday, Gill Pragnell ran a great race to dip under the 45 minute mark at the Brighton 10k. Run along a fast course on the seafront of Brighton and Hove in a large field of over 2700 runners, Gill finished as the 14th lady in her age group in a time of 44:53.
Amanda Bashford ran the A20 path and Downs marathon on Sunday and finished 1st in her age category. Run along quiet lanes along the A20, Amanda finished in a time of 4:23:58. Helen Weeden also completed the race, as she finished in a time of 4:55:23.
Rhian Shrimplin also ran the Gosport Half Marathon on Sunday in very tough conditions. Running into a very strong headwind in a large field of over 1500 runners, Rhian finished 81st in her age category as she ran an excellent race to finish in a time of 1:55:56.
