Six club members tackled this off-road marathon course through the South Downs including the Seven Sisters and Beachy Head in good weather conditions thankfully. First home for the club was Gary Sage in an impressive time of 3:57 followed by Robin Butler in 4:10. Neil Buckley finished in 4:31 after virtually zero training. Not much separated Ed Rodger and Steve Hickman, Eddie completing in 4:54 and Steve in 4:55. Amanda Bashford completed a full house finishing in 5:29. All enjoyed it despite the gruelling nature of a demanding off-road route!
Keith Haynes and Luke Kadinopolous also ran in the 25th Great South Run, a fast flat 10-mile route around Portsmouth. Keith PB’d in a time of 1:11:37 and Luke finished in 1:20:10.
Lastly it was the first anniversary of the Ashford Park run last Saturday! Over 150 runners ran the 5k route including 8 club members. Some pace-set, some marshalled and others ran PBs. Pat Butler was first home for the club in a PB time of 19:30 (4th), Dean finished in 19:50 (8th), Daniel Green 19:51 (9th), Mark Attenborough 20:41 (PB) (12th), Lisa Bracken 24:50 (7th female), Julie Foster 27:18 (19th female), Ann Fidge 29:09 (32nd female) and Keith Haynes 31:03 (warm-up for Great South Run). Remember Park run is open to all every Saturday morning 9:00 at Victoria Park.
