With many of the club’s runners well into their Spring marathon training, Sunday saw a chance to test out how their training was progressing with nine of the club’s runners taking part in the Canterbury 10 mile race. In a large field of over 1300 runners on a testing and hilly course in misty and cold conditions, Trevor Kay was first home for the club in 35th place in a time of 1:01:51, with Dan Green close behind in 41st place and 9th MV40 in 1:02:26. Dean Bracken produced a 2 minute personal best with his 77th place finish in 1:04:54, wiith Paul Moses finishing in 102nd place and 10th MV50 in 1:05:57. Julius Sampson finished 105th in 1:06:17, Scott Lynch 116th in 1:06:43, Danyel Carter ran an 18 minute personal best as she finished 276th in 1:13:22, Stu Nunn came home in 1:21:36 and Rhian Shrimplin finished in 1:27:04.
At the latest Ashford parkrun, Richard Baker was first home for the club as he finished 1st in a time of 19:51, with Mark Attenborough next in 7th in 20:47, the ever improving Terry Sellen came home 9th in 21:54, Stu Nunn was 24th in 23:19, Clare Green was the 3rd lady finisher in 23:24, Dan Green 28th in 23:25, and Scott Lynch 29th in 23:26. Mark Cleworth ran a personal best as he finished 54th in 26:17, Sue Reader was 16th lady in 27:12, Paul Bailey came home in 27:47, Julie Foster in 30:42 and Andrew Smith in 31:39.
