On Bank holiday Monday, five members ran the Canterbury Half Marathon. Run on a challenging and hilly course in heavy rain along the quiet roads to the south of Canterbury, Rik Holden running his first race for the club and using the race as preparation for the Berlin Marathon later this month, was first home for the club in 38th place in a time of 1:37:18. Keith Haynes was close behind him as he finished in 46th place in a time of 1:38:22. Dexter Hogben was next in, finishing in an excellent time of 1:41:12. Steve Hickman finished in a time of 1:57:22, just ahead of Rhian Shrimplin who was the 15th lady home in a time of 1:58:01.
Jon Wells ran the rarely run race distance of 7 miles, when he ran the Sevenoaks 7 miler on Bank Holiday Monday. Run on an undulating course around Knole Park, Jon came in 45th in a time of 48:09.
