Friday 10th June saw a large turnout from the club’s members for the Charing 10k. First home for the club was Cj Lattimer who finished in a new personal best time of 36:07 for a 3rd place finish, closely followed home by Ali Ward who came home in 5th with a time of 37:54. The club took home the men’s team prize as Jon Wells finished in 10th place in a time of 39:53. Anthony Brown finished 15th in 43:02, Dexter Hogben 20th in 43:57, closely followed by Rosie Day who finished as the 3rd lady overall in a time of 44:33. Andrew Taylor came home 24th in 45:24, Gill Pragnell finished as the 4th lady and was the first Vet lady in a time of 45:44. With Jo Faux finishing as the 7th lady in a time of 47:17, the club made it a clean sweep for the team prizes as they took home the lady’s also. Rhian Shrimplin was 9th lady home in 47:48, Victoria Pragnell finished in 49:20, Eddie Rodger, training for his forthcoming ultra race, came home in 49:42, Simon Jackson trimmed over 4 minutes from last year’s time as he finished in 53:03 and Sue Reader came home in 55:25.
Sunday 10th June saw Julie Foster trim over 2 minutes from her recent Folkestone 10k time, as she finished the Olympic Park 10k in a time of 57:31.
In the first Samphire Hoe 5k Summer Series race this year, Chris Boyce ran an excellent race to finish 3rd in a time of 18:45. Jon Wells continued his good form this year as he finished 7th in 19m:56s, and Rhian Shrimplin ran a excellent race to finish as the 2nd lady in a time of 23:22.
