East Kent Inter Club Relays 4th July 2017
Ashford & District road running club had a very successful set of results in the 2017 East Kent Inter club relays final league tables, after the final relay at Canterbury last Tuesday.  The Men’s Senior A team had a close battle with Folkestone running club at the final relay to see who would win the league, with Folkestone overtaking Ashford RRC on the last leg to finish 2nd on the night, despite Ashford’s RRC’s Robert Latala running the fastest leg of the evening in a time of 11m:35s over the 2.3 mile course. This meant that Folkestone won the overall league, with Ashford RRC finishing runner’s up.  In the Senior Women’s A league, the club also finished runner’s up overall in the league behind Folkestone.
Other highlights in the final league standings were, a win for the junior team in their category, the Senior ladies B team winning their league, and the Men’s Vet40 B team and Vet50 B team winning their respective leagues.
Romney Marsh 10k Sunday 9th July 2017
In very hot conditions at the Romney Marsh 10k on Sunday, Trevor Kay, produced an impressive 4th place finish in 37m:25s, with Kevan James (MV50) next home in 15th place in 41m:51s, Adrian Moody (MV50) was 24th in 44m:19s, Claire Green 70th in 52m:46s and Jaclyn Kay 86th in a time of 55m:39s
Herne Bay 10k Sunday 9th July 2017
Along the coast at the Herne Bay 10k, Stu Nunn also had the hot conditions to contend with as he finished 101st and 39th MV40 out of a field of over 400 runners.
