The Podplus Ashford Summer Series 5 & 10K– Friday 18th May 2018
The Podplus Ashford Summer Series returned to Victoria Park on Friday night for the 1st of 4 events over as many months.
Carl Jones finished 2nd in the 10k event (4 laps of the park) in 35m:16s, just 10 seconds off of the clubs veteran record.
Meanwhile, Dan Green took the honours in the 5k event finishing 1st in 17m:57s. Chris Boyce followed in 18m:41s (4th) with Rob Barton in a personal best of 18m:50s (5th) and Ryan Edwards in 18m:55s (6th).
Paul Moses finished within the top 10 in 19m:13s (8th) with Terry Sellen in 24m:31s (16th) and Shaun Snowwolf-Harris in 25m:23s (19th).
University of Canterbury 10k – Sunday 20th May 2018
Rob Barton completed a busy weekend finishing 11th overall in the University of Canterbury 10k on Sunday in a time of 40m:58s. Adrian Moody finished the course in 44m:44s (24th) and Elodie Paviot recorded a new personal best at this distance finishing in 46m:04s (33rd).
Ashford Parkrun -Saturday 19th May 2018
Fresh from winning the Stelling Minnis 10k last weekend, Trevor Kay continued his rich vein of form finishing 1st at the towns parkrun on Saturday in a time of 17m:36s and nearly 2 minutes ahead of the field.
Mark Attenborough also recorded a seasons best finishing 6th in 19m:56s. Keith Haynes continued his return to form also crossing the line in 20m:11s (7th) and Julius Samson followed in 20m:16s (8th).
Carl Ireland set a new personal best of 21m:03s (14th). Richard Baker followed in 21m:11s (17th) and Mark Harrison, also achieving a personal best , in a time of 21m:54s (22nd). Stuart Nunn was next up in 22m:28s (28th) with Philip Bridges in 23m:12s (36th) and James Chapman in 23m:22s (39th).
Claire Green was 1st lady home overall in a time of 23m:35s (46th) with Dan Green following in 23m:36s (47th). Terry Sellen crossed the line in 24m:25s (56th), Will Whittington in 24m:38s (60th), John Fidge 25m:42s (77th), Chloe Green set a new personal best of 25m:45s (80th), Jaclyn Kay in 25m:48s (81st) with Keith Lynn also setting a PB in 25m:56s (87th).
Lesley Moody and Becky Hodgson finished in 31m:06s (176th & 177th) with Emma Jenkins in 41m:48s (251st) and Julie Foster in 41m:52s (252nd). Meanwhile, Anthony Brown ran the Folkestone parkrun in 21m:25s (33rd).
