Holden Marathons in Mordor
Rik Holden competed in the Tolkien trail marathon completing the wet and muddy course around Ashenbank Wood with an impressive time of 3:40:41.
Sarah Taylor took part in the Bedgebury Summer Series 10k and finished in a time of 1:10:39.
Tough weather conditions with torrential rain and strong a head wind presented a challenge to runners at the Twilight Chase with a 6 hour out and back circuit along a very windy Rye Harbour. Aaron Homewood covered 30.8 miles in the 6 hours. Sarah Homewood certainly tested her injured calf with a half marathon distance covered in 2:29:40. Lucy Johnstone was second lady covering 22 miles in 4:23:32. Steve Hickman encouraging Lucy over the distance covered 22.65 miles.
The Mount Ephraim 10k offered a testing run for the A&D runners on Sunday. Scotty Lynch ran a personal best on the course in 40:00 with 5th place. Made even more impressive as this followed a 19:07 park run on Saturday. Next home for the club in 8th place overall with a time of 41:26 was Paul Moses. The trio of veterans was completed by Adrian Moody in 22nd place with a time of 47:01.
