CJ Lattimer powered home to a 2nd place finish at the Littlestone 10k last Friday night. Running into a strong headwind along the course, CJ came home in an excellent time of 36:49. Following him home was Anthony Brown who finished 15th in 42:15, Jo Faux who came home 29th in 48:18, and Rhian Shrimplin finished 30th in 48:23.
Two of the club’s runners made the long trip up to Scotland to take part in the Edinburgh marathon on Sunday. Running in hot conditions around the course, Gill Pragnell ran well to finish in a time of 3:50:49, and Eddie Rodger came home in 4:31:52.
In a large field of over 450 runners, three of the club’s runners took part in the Folkestone 10k on Sunday. Keith Haynes came home first for the club as he finished 41st and 6th male Vet40 in a time of 42:12, followed in by Mark Carlton who came home in 50:41, and Julie Foster who finished in 1:00:02.
Dean Bracken ran a brilliant race at the Needles Half marathon on Sunday. Run on an off road course around the Isle of Wight, the half marathon is one of the toughest in the country with several tough climbs. Dean finished 27th in a time of 1:39:28. Also running in the race for the club was Paul Brasington who finished 136th in 2:00:49.
Helen Weeden and Sue Reader both produced personal best performances on Sunday at the Aylesham 10 miler. Helen finished in a time of 1:36:20 and Sue finished in 1:39:05.
Jon Wells took part in the off road Clumber Trailblazer 10k on Saturday, finishing in a time of 43:16.
