Daniel Green made the long trip to Tenby in Wales to take part in the very tough, Long course Weekend event, made up of 2.4 mile sea swim on Friday, 112 hilly bike course on Saturday and the Wales Marathon on Sunday. He completed the swim in 1:24:45, the bike course in 6:57:49, and the marathon in 3:18:27. His total time for all 3 events of 11:41:01 placed him 44th out of 419 finishers, with the toughness of the course accounting for over 200 competitors who didn’t finish. Claire Green also took part in the Long course weekend, as she completed the half ironman distances. She completed the 1.2 mile swim in 47:00, the 66 mile bike course in 5:17:00 and the half marathon in 2:14:00.
In the Rye Summer Series 10k on Friday night, Stu Nunn had a night to remember as he knocked over a minute off his personal best as he finished in 32nd place in a time of 50:10. Steve Hickman, returning from injury came home in 51st place in 55:57 and 2nd in his age category, with Helen Weeden finishing in 58th place in 58:11, which was 4th in her age category.
Dexter Hogben completed the Hever Castle Aquathlon on Sunday, as he finished the 1.9km swim and 10.5km run in a combined time of 1:54:12 and 11th place.
