Three club members ran the North Downs Run which is a hilly 30 km mixed terrain trail race, ran through the scenic views of the North downs and always a tough and popular challenge even for the most experienced runners. First home for the club was Anthony Brown. He finished 122nd in an excellent time of 2:46:38. Next in for the club was Mark Attenborough finishing 185th in a time of 2:58:34, a superb effort and back to his best after injury problems. Neil Buckley completed the race in a time of 3:17:51 in preparation for longer distance challenges this summer.
Lisa Gordon ran the Race for Life Hackney 10k last Saturday completing her first 10k event in 57:34 in hot and tough conditions!
Lastly we had four club members run the Hamstreet 10k last Sunday, a course incorporating an offroad section through Hamstreet Woods. First back for the club, continuing his impressive running in 2015 was Dean Bracken, a 6th place finish in a time of 40:56. Ingvild Firth was first in her age category in an excellent time of 51:02, closely followed by Rachel Grout first senior lady in a time of 51:18. Helen Weeden finished in 57:47 and was second in her age category with Steve Hickman close in attendance in 57:48, fifth in his age category.
