In the popular Paddock Wood Half Marathon, which is run on a fast flat course around the quiet roads around Paddock Wood, the club had some notable performances. Kevan James was first home for the club as he prepares to represent the club at the London Marathon in three weeks. Finishing in 209th place and 29th MV50, in a field of over 2750 runners, James finished in a time of 1hr:27m:54s. He was followed in by Keith Haynes who ran a new personal best, despite only having run the tough Hastings Half marathon two weeks ago, finishing 417th in a time of 1hr:35m:43s. Rhian Shrimplin finished 843rd in a time of 1hr:48m:52s, and Will Whittington ran a new personal best, finishing 928th in 1hr:51m:09s.
In other races, at the Hole Park Trail 10k, Gill O’Connor won the tough hilly off road trail race at Hole Park nr Rolvenden in a time of 54m:07s, and In the 5k race, held at the same time as the 10k, Christine Costiff won the race in a time of 25m:40s.
At the latest Ashford Parkrun, Dan Green was first home for the club, finishing 2nd and 1st MV45 in a time of 18.36s, followed in by Ryan Edwards in 3rd place in 18m:41s, Paul Moses 4th and 1st MV50 in 18:45, Trevor Kay 5th also in 18m:45s, Mark Attenborough 10th in 19m:48s, Shane Dragwidge 12th in 20m:07s, Anthony Brown 14th in 20m:16s and Pat Butler was 19th and 1st MV60 in 21m:07s. Terry Sellen was 27th in 21m:53s, Rod Kessack 37th in 22m:53s, Richard Baker 40th in 23m:04s, Stu Nunn 45th in 23m:19s, Ann Fidge ran a personal best in 28m:17s, Sue Reader finished in 28m:33s, Claire Green in 28m:35s and Becky Hodgson ran a personal best in 29m:54s.
