Lydd 20 Mile
The Lydd 20 mile and half marathon were made much tougher for A&D runners by the cold, bitter, blustery winds but this did not deter them with every one of the team who submitted a time this week registering new personal best times.
First home in the 20 miler was Alex Francis in a fantastic time of 2 hours, 21 minutes and 24 seconds. Hot on his heels was Mark Harrison in great time of 2:24:56, third was men’s team captain, Adrian Beresford in 2:28:37, then Alison Waters in 2:32:37.
She was closely followed by Steve Hodges in 2:32:46, a PB by 26 minutes and 3rd vet 55. Keith Haynes in his first road race for 7 months, ran 2:34:05, a PB by 4 minutes, Stuart Nunn 2:47:25, Peter Buckley 3:22:36 and Trevor Sparkes in 3:39:52.

On cold, hilly and windy trails, Steve Hickman ran his 171st marathon and 19th Steyning Stinger in 5:44:59, this despite losing time after a fall. Lucy Johnstone taking part in the same event ran a great 6:13:27.
