In the first race after Christmas, Stu Nunn was the standout performance in the Staplehurst 10 mile race last Sunday. He smashed his personal best by over 6 minutes as he came home 83rd in a time of 1:26:28. Dean Bracken, now in training for the Brighton marathon in April, was first home for the club as he finished in 27th place in a time of 1:11:24. Rhian Shrimplin finished as the 14th lady home in the race as she finished in 1:23:16.
On New years day, two members took on the tough challenge of the Lamberhurst 10k. One of the toughest 10k’s in Kent, it includes some very tough hills and not usually a race to attempt a personal best. Jo Faux was the first club member home, as she finished as the 10th lady in the race in a time of 48:16. Stu Nunn again showed his recent improvement, as he knocked 4 minutes from his time from last year’s race. He came home in 53:33 and 86th place.
Amanda Bashford completed two marathons in two days as she ran the Enigma double marathon last weekend. She completed her 35th marathon on Saturday, as she ran a time of 4:31:19 and on Sunday completed number 36, as she came home in a time of 5:32:42.
