Following the death of former Masterchef contestant, Matt Campbell, who tragically collapsed at the 22.5 mile point at the London marathon last weekend and later died in hospital, the running community up and down the country vowed to complete Matt’s marathon in his memory.
The ‘finish for Matt’ campaign has continued to grow this week raising over £300,000 for the charity Matt was running for, the Brathay Trust. Ashford & District club member Filiz Salih, who also ran the London marathon last weekend, organised an event on Saturday morning with nearly 100 runners taking part, completing 3.7 miles around Victoria Park.
