Boxing day saw a large entry of over 800 people for the 41st running of the Saltwood Boxing day charity run. Run over 3 miles of mud and off road around Saltwood, the club had a large turnout of runners for this event. Dean Bracken was first home for the club, as he finished 48th in a time of 21:28, next in for the club was Gary Sage who came home in 69th place and a time of 22:48, followed by Dexter Hogben in 73rd in 22:54. Gill Pragnell ran an excellent race to finish in 24:20 and claim 110th place, then came Stu Nunn in 240th place in a time of 28:57, Steve Hickman in 303rd place in a time of 30:47 and Amanda Bashford finished in 40:23.
Two club members took part in the Portsmouth Coastal Marathon on the last Sunday before Christmas. A multi -terrain event which starts at the seafront at Southsea and takes the runners out to Hayling Island and back. Steve Hickman completed his 122nd marathon as he finished 72nd in his age category in a time of 4:24:29. Amanda Bashford finished 46th in her age category as she completed the course in 5:18:52.
Christine Costiff ran an excellent race to finish as the 2nd lady and first in her age category in the Kent Christmas Cracker 5 mile race at Fowlmead Country park. Christine came home in a time of 35:43. Jon Wells was the first club runner home as he continued his excellent form in 2015 with a 13th place overall in a time of 32:31. Nigel Costiff completed the course in a time of 45:55 as he finished 4th in his age category.
