Tunbridge Wells & Tenterden Trio’s shine in the Sun.
The Hendy Tunbridge Wells Half Marathon – Sunday 18th February 2018
Sunday saw the 35th running of The Tunbridge Wells Half Marathon. Just over 1400 runners completed the course in the warm winter sunshine in almost perfect running conditions.
Jon Wells finished 1st for the club in 1hr:34m:34s, 177th overall, Anthony Brown followed in 1hr:40m:59s (324th) with Rhian Shrimplin in 1hr:46m:55s (496th).
The Tenterden 5 Mile – Sunday 18th February 2018
Christine Costiff completed the Tenterden 5 miler in 36m:04s and in doing so finished 36th overall and 1st in category. Gill Pragnell followed in 36m:51s, 39th place overall and 2nd in category and Gill O’Connor finished just behind in 37m:10s, 43rd overall and also 2nd in category. For their combined efforts, Ashford & District ladies picked up a 2nd place team prize also.
Ashford Parkrun – Saturday 17th February 2018
Paul Moses was 1st man home for Ashford & District RRC at the latest parkrun event on Saturday. Moses finished in 7th overall in a time of 19m:05s.
Rob Barton followed in 10th in a time of 20m:11s with Scott Lynch finishing in 20m:30s (14th) and Mark Attenborough hot on his heels in 20m:32s (15th). Carl Ireland was next up in 22m:28s (34th) with Mark Harrison in 23m:43s (50th) and Will Whittington in 24m:04s (51st).
Ann Fidge crossed the line in 30m:14s (150th), Jeremy Chambers in 38m:07s (223rd), Emma Jenkins 44m:52s (235th) and Rod Kessack 46m:29s (237th).
In further 5k news, Trevor Kay completed the Harbour Club Serpentine 5k in London on Friday in a personal best of 17m:28s, finishing 26th overall competing in a very strong field.
