An excellent run at the Cylcopark Christmas Santa Dash 10K in Gravesend saw Jon Wells win the event in 37:58.
Becky Hodgson took part in the SVN Festive Frolic at Samphire Hoe and completed the hilly half marathon in 3:41:40.
On Saturday the club were well represented at the South of the Thames Cross Country Association championships. The brave 14 took part in the traditional 7 mile cross country over muddy hills and through park land on a truly bleak Saturday afternoon better suited for eating mince pies and drinking mulled wine.
The ladies were led home by Becks Macey with an impressive 16th place. Chris’s Costiff and Gill O’Connor we’re close behind in 62nd and 77th, with Gill Pragnell returning to form in 83rd place.
Lucy Ellen Johnstone and Sue Reader in 107th and 108th completed the 6 scoring places for A&DRRC.
Struggling through stomach problems Andrew Noble led the men home in 104th place followed by Scotty Lynch, 138th, Keith Haynes, 152nd, cross country captain Adrian Moody, 154th, Richard Baker, 174th, and Carl Ireland 184th to give the 6 to score places. Adrian Beresford, 194th, and Shane Harris Snowwolf, 210th, offering vital support for the team.
A&D had 17 runners taking part in Ashford park run. Trevor Kay (17:34) and Dan Green (18:00) finished in 4th and 5th place. Elodie Paviot had a personal best time in 20:47, and Sandi Mortimer broke the 24 minute barrier with a personal best of 23:52.
