Good Friday saw a large turnout from the club’s runners in the annual Folkestone 10 mile race. Run along the seafront from Hythe to Folkestone in a field of over 650 runners, Dan Green was the first of the club’s runners home, as he finished 35th in a time of 1:03:13, followed by another storming run by Paul Moses who finished as the 4th Male Vet50 in a time of 1:04:18, Cj Lattimer finished 58th in 1:05:33, Jon Wells 72nd in 1:06:42, and following his excellent performance the previous week in the Hastings half marathon, Robin Butler finished 106th in 1:09:10. Richard Holden came home 133rd in 1:11:37, Mark Attenborough 141st in 1:12:01, Gary Sage finished in 1:12:13, Scott Lynch in 1:12:36, and Richard Baker in 1:13:09. Jo Barnes was the first lady finisher for the club as she came home in 1:16:15, followed by Gill O’connor in 1:17:33, and Jo Faux in 1:21:13.
Rhian Shrimplin completed the course in 1:24:28, Stu Nunn in 1:29:44, Kate Williams in 1:30:21, Mark Carlton came home in 1:30:49, Danyel Giles in 1:31:36, Dean Bracken, returning from injury finished in 1:37:17, Simon Jackson in 1:38:18, Jeremy Chambers in 1:39:38 and Julie Foster finished in 1:54:53. Kirsty Farrant, and Andrew Smith in training for Brighton Marathon next month, came home close together, Kirsty finishing in 1:55:04, and Andrew in 1:55:06.
