Meet the Committee

Our dedicated committee members play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning and success of our club. We are a passionate group of volunteers who work tirelessly to promote the sport of road running within the local community, create a supportive and inclusive club environment, and organize engaging activities for our members. On this page, you will get to know our committee members and their roles within the club. We hope that you will find this information helpful and get to know us better.

Member 1

Sue Beech

Role: Chairperson

About: Performing various roles, Sue has been a beacon at A&D for many years, helping the club to grow and to shine. We are certainly lucky to have her.

Member 2

Ricky Hickman

Role: Vice Chairperson

About: Known as the Kent Lockdown League creator. There’s not much Ricky hasn’t helped with at A&D. Members know him for socials, club competitions and less so for his amazing efforts behind the scenes.

Allen Edwards

Role: Secretary

About: Allen took charge of our kit last year and was quickly recognised for his impeccable organisation skills. He now ensures the smooth running of A&D’s back of house.

Robin Butler

Role: Treasurer

About: Robin has supported the committee for many years and stands as the longest serving active member. He ensures the clubs continued development and ability to cater for our members.

Simon Jackson

Role: Membership/Records

About: A familiar face for any local Parkrunner. Simon gives back very generously throughout the local running community including orginisation of Ashford parkrun and other clubs around Ashford.

Helen Weeden

Role: Lead Welfare

About: Helen takes care of our members by making sure we are practicing the best and most up to date procedures. She makes sure nobody is left behind. She is also the last standing at any party!

Scotty Lynch

Role: Welfare

About: His personality is infectious and has an ability to talk to anybody leaving them smiling. Known for his career in the police force and his work with young adults.  A great guy and an even better runner!

Aiden Gorham

Role: Men’s Captain

About: Leader of men and quite rightly so. Aiden is an incredible athlete and loves to help others get the most out of their running. Our men have a great season ahead with Aiden at the wheel!

Alice Cook

Role: Woman’s Captain

About: Alice has taken the step up from Vice captain after a fantastic season last year for our ladies. With her help, we are confident she will again lead our ladies to greatness!

Mark Harrison

Role: Vice Men’s Captain

About: Mark continues to be one of our most consistent runners. He’s an amazing guy in and out of trainers. Aiden and Mark are certainly a dream team when it comes to leading our men’s teams this season.

Emma Hannah

Role: Vice Woman’s Captain

About: Last year Emma contributed heavily towards our ladies team results including an amazing cross country season. She often gives her time to write our club news for local papers and our website.

Keli Sullivan

Role: Social Secretary

About: Keli does not attend a party… she brings the party. Arguably the most important member, she organises club events such as Awards nights,  Christmas Parties, Coach trips and more. Cheers Keli!
