Taking advantage of some opportunely scheduled races, a group of hardy A&D members took part in the first round of the Gravesend Cyclopark Floodlit series. Storming round and completing the windy 10km distance, Paul Moses posted an impressive 41.04 with Adrian Beresford not far behind in 45.09. The 5km loop saw Rhian Shrimplin speed round in 20.35, claiming 4th lady finisher over and a PB. Cris Francis followed closely in 21.05 with Alison Waters also posting a PB and crossing the line in 22.04.

Showing true grit and determination and taking on the windy, muddy and undulating Maverick Adidas Terrex Original Kent 2020, Edward Roger completed the half marathon distance in a steadfast 2.04.21. Keith Lynn (2.28.17) and Helen Weeden (2.40.20) also impressed and completed the tough course in true A&D style. Tackling the 10k distance, Jonny Wells swooped in and scooped 2nd place, crossing the line in a speedy 43.21.

Further afield, Ashford & District RRC runners Lesley Clancy and Andrew Noble recently competed in the European Masters Athletics Championships in Madeira. Lesley collected a full set of Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in the 2 events she competed in. On Friday 30th October she made up the 2nd leg of of the 2k x 3 women’s XC relay for GB, helping to win a silver medal for the V35 team.
